Born in Mexico City, Eric studied architecture at the Western Institute of Technology in Guadalajara, and ETSAM in Madrid, Spain. After graduating he acted as a consultant on the renewal of Guadalajara's historical central parks. In London he joined Allies and Morrison where he became Associate leading a team of designers dedicated to large-scale architectural and masterplanning projects such as the new Ericsson headquarters in Coventry, the refurbishment of London City Airport, and a new urban quarter in Cairo, Egypt.

As one of the founding Partners of Delvendahl Martin, Eric was responsible for the refurbishment of 30 Cannon St, a Grade II listed office building in the City of London and has led cultural, commercial and residential projects in London, New York and Mexico.

Eric has taught and lectured internationally, and was appointed Design Fellow at the Department of Architecture of the University of Cambridge in 2009, internal examiner in 2013, and Director of Studies in Architecture and Bye-Fellow for Fitzwilliam College in 2018. He has been a guest critic at a number of institutions including the Architectural Association and Kingston University.

Currently working as a consultant at Allies and Morrison, Eric maintains a design overseeing role in some of the practice's key projects.
