Wedge House – London, UK
2010 – Built
Ground floor extension and interior fit-out of a contemporary terraced house in North London. The brief called for the creation of increased space at Ground Floor level to house the main family activities around the kitchen. Due to site and planning restrictions the main idea was to create a fully glazed north-facing wall to maximize daylight and minimize the visual impact of the new extension. The glass has a layer of semi-reflective film to achieve a certain level of privacy and emphasize the ambiguous presence of the wall by creating reflections of the surrounding elements of the garden.
